Job Overview

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Executive to oversee and manage the end-to-end accounts payable process. This role is critical in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payments to vendors, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting financial reporting and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing & Verification

  • Review, verify, and process high-volume supplier invoices in accordance with company policies and tax regulations (e.g., SST compliance in Malaysia).
  • Ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation for all payables.

Payment Execution

  • Prepare and execute weekly/monthly payment runs (cheques, online banking, GIRO, etc.).
  • Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely settlement and avoid penalties or service disruptions.

Vendor Management

  • Maintain accurate vendor master data and reconcile vendor statements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and dispute resolution.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Perform monthly AP aging analysis and prepare accruals for month-end closing.
  • Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and assist in audit preparation.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and enhance internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, tax regulations, and audit requirements.

Team Collaboration

  • Support junior AP staff and collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: LCCI, Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of working experience, preferably in F&B or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of SST compliance, service charges, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with inventory costing methods and financial benchmarking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Point of Sales (POS) systems, and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple financial tasks.
  • Cultural fit to working in a fast-paced, multi-outlet F&B environment.
  • Strong communication skills and team player.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3, RM5,500.00 per month
