About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Solar PV Designer to join our Engineering Department. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and delivering high-quality photovoltaic (PV) system designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires technical precision, design expertise, and the ability to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective solar solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and optimized solar PV system layouts and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
  • Use design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or equivalent software.
  • Perform technical calculations including string sizing, voltage drop, and energy yield estimation.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM), feasibility studies, and ROI analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with TNB, ST, SEDA, MGTC, and other relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and installation teams to align designs with project requirements.
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation and commissioning.
  • Maintain design documentation and approval records for internal and external reviews.
  • Support knowledge sharing and guide junior team members where needed.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in solar technology and design standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in solar PV system design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong understanding of PV system components, electrical codes, and grid connection standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for site assessments and technical support.
