Internship - QC and R&D (Food manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities:

QUALITY CONTROL (QC)

  1. Understand and monitor product manufacturing to ensure it is in compliance with SOP, GMP, HALAL, HACCP, ISO 22000

  2. Perform analytical tests, inspections, and monitoring of incoming raw materials/packaging/finished goods according to sampling plan

  3. Check on the materials received for compliance with approved specifications

  4. Record and report any non-conforming

  5. Help organize and update SOPs, policies and manuals

  6. Support in compiling forms and reports

  7. Prepare and label samples for laboratory analysis

  8. Observe production and packaging processes to learn about quality control checkpoints

  9. Suggest observations or findings that could contribute to process improvements

  10. Ensure CCPs (Critical Control Points) are monitored and controlled effectively

  11. Support checks on hygiene and sanitation practices in production areas

  12. Accurately complete QC checklists, inspection forms and daily monitoring records

  13. Assist in maintaining traceability records for audits and reviews

  14. Assist in monitoring & measuring equipment calibration.

  15. Assist in pest control program

  16. Assist in rework, relabeling or disposal activities

  17. Liaise with other department to continually improve existing food safety management system.

  18. Assist in customer / supplier complaint

  19. Involve in internal audit, 2nd & 3rd party audits

  20. To undertake any adhoc task / project assigned by immediate superior or Management

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (R&D)

  1. Assist in new product formulation and recipe trials.

  2. Conduct sample preparation for internal tasting and customer evaluations.

  3. Support sensory testing and collect feedback for improvement.

  4. Conduct literature reviews on ingredients, nutrition, food trends and competitor products.

  5. Document experiment procedures, results and observations.

  6. Prepare technical report and presentations for review.

  7. Assist in checking that new formulations comply with food safety regulations, Halal and nutritional requirements.

  8. Support shelf-life and stability studies.

  9. Help in preparing product specifications and technical data sheets.

  10. Participate in pilot-scale trials and production runs.

  11. Observe scaling-up process from lab to production.

  12. Assist in troubleshooting formulation or process issues.

  13. Work closely with QAQC, Production and Marketing teams to ensure product feasibility.

  14. Support preparation of product samples for customer presentations.

  15. Provide assistance during audits, trials or product launches when required.

  16. Conduct market surveys on product trends, pricing and customer preferences.

  17. Perform any other R&D-related duties as assigned by the superior.

Requirements:

  1. Candidate preferred possess with a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food service, Food Technology or any other related field.

  2. Good in written and communication in English & Malay.

  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  4. Able to work Independently, Creative & Innovative, Good Communication skills and Passionate.

Job Type: Internship

Contract length: 4-6 months

Pay: RM700.00 per month
