Technical Manager – Tooling design Experience Required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and continuously develop the Technical Team to enhance overall operational efficiency and strengthen the organization's technological capabilities.
  • Manage new product development projects from initial customer concept through to full-scale manufacturing. This includes new moulded part designs, tooling design validation, and full tooling project planning, release, and tracking.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships to achieve business goals and sustain high standards of project performance.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with both customers and tooling suppliers.
  • Supervise the internal tooling department's budget, quotation approvals, and profit & loss management.
  • Conduct research and implement new technologies to support both internal operations and customer needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new plastic materials suitable for product development.
  • Identify and develop innovative tooling concepts and manufacturing processes, applying best industry practices in tool design.
  • Collaborate closely with the business development team to provide early technical input for new and potential projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Tool Design, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design or injection moulding, with a solid understanding of tooling design and plastic material properties.
  • Proficiency in CAD modelling, particularly using Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of part design for injection moulding applications.
  • Competence in both 2D and 3D CAD systems, with the ability to interpret detailed engineering and assembly drawings.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Effective leadership, decision-making, and delegation skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
