Hiring: Developer (Cards) – Malaysia (Client Location) | New Era Technology

About the Role:

New Era Technology is looking for experienced Developer- Cards to be deployed at our prestigious client in Malaysia at their KL office.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications in the Cards domain on Mainframe platforms such as CardLink or Vision Plus.

The role involves full participation in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and close collaboration with business and technical teams in a banking environment.

Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications for card processing systems. Write, test, and debug COBOL, CICS, and JCL programs in alignment with project requirements.

Manage and optimize data using VSAM and Sequential datasets, and work with NoSQL databases where applicable.

Participate in requirement analysis, design, testing, and deployment activities. Ensure code quality, performance efficiency, and compliance with security standards.

Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams.

Qualification & Experience:

Years of Experience: Junior L2 (3-5 Years

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

Platform / Product: Mainframe, CardLink / Vision Plus

Programming Languages: COBOL, CICS, JCL

Database / Files: NoSQL Database, VSAM, Sequential Datasets

Operating System: Mainframe z/OS

Nice to Have:

Platform / Product: Authorization

Programming Language: Easytrieve

Other Requirements

Hands-on experience with SDLC processes within banking or financial services projects, preferably in Cards systems. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.
