Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
• Professional Engineer (Ir.) License for Civil & Structural works with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia).
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil & structural engineering, with exposure to M&E coordination.
• Proven track record in industrial construction projects (factories, warehouses, manufacturing plants, heavy industrial facilities).
• Strong experience in value engineering, cost optimization, and commercial awareness for industrial projects.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in civil & structural design, project execution, and construction methodology for industrial buildings.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial projects, including:
• Electrical distribution & power supply
• HVAC, ventilation, and cooling systems
• Process piping, plumbing, and drainage systems
• Fire suppression and safety systems
• Proficient in engineering software: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and MEP coordination tools.
• Familiarity with industrial construction regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
• Knowledge of cost estimation, tendering, and budget control for industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities1. Engineering Leadership & Strategic Planning

• Lead and manage all engineering disciplines, ensuring integration of C&S and M&E scopes for industrial projects.
• Develop engineering best practices, policies, and procedures tailored for industrial construction.
• Provide strategic technical guidance to the Managing Director and senior leadership.

2. Industrial Sector Expertise & Value Engineering

• Apply value engineering principles to optimize structural and M&E designs and reduce costs.
• Recommend cost-effective alternative materials and construction methods.
• Collaborate with tender and commercial teams to develop competitive proposals.
• Ensure industrial projects comply with client standards and regulations, especially for D&B projects.

3. C&S and M&E Coordination

• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works for industrial buildings.
• Review M&E layouts, electrical loads, HVAC systems, fire protection, and process piping to ensure structural alignment.
• Minimize design conflicts through collaboration with architects, consultants, and contractors.

4. Project Management & Technical Oversight

• Oversee designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, site challenges, and multidisciplinary design conflicts.

5. Regulatory Compliance & Industrial Standards

• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards:
• BEM, CIDB, DOSH, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, TNB, IWK, JKR, and other relevant agencies.
• Act as Professional Engineer (PE) signatory for C&S designs.
• Lead authority submissions and approvals for industrial projects.

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of C&S and M&E engineers and drafters.
• Conduct training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical workshops.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.

7. Innovation & Technology Advancement

• Implement BIM, structural analysis software, and MEP coordination tools.
• Research and propose cost-effective green building initiatives and sustainable design solutions for industrial developments.
