Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of negotiation, coordination, and execution of local catering events to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Handle incoming leads, conduct site inspections, and actively convert business opportunities through sales calls, client entertainment, and prospecting.

  • Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Events to develop and implement proactive sales and marketing strategies.

  • Oversee event operations, ensuring seamless communication with all internal departments and providing timely, accurate information.

  • Maintain high-quality service standards, supporting clients before, during, and after events.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and contribute new ideas to enhance event offerings.

  • Support hotel-wide initiatives such as Signature Events and Signature Weddings.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel standards, policies, and guiding principles, including safety, hygiene, and sustainability practices.

Requirements

  • Degree holder with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of catering/event sales, with a proven ability to achieve revenue goals.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are an advantage).

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

  • A team player with leadership qualities and the ability to handle a team.

  • Computer literate with knowledge of event systems and reporting.

  • Positive role model, self-starter, and willing to work long or flexible hours when required.
