Landscape Horticulture

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team leadership and management:

• Supervise and direct landscaping and horticulture crews.

• Assign daily tasks and manage schedules to ensure efficient completion of work.

• Train staff on horticultural techniques and safety protocols.

Horticultural and landscaping oversight:

• Plan and implement horticultural activities like planting, pruning, and fertilizing.

• Monitor plant health, identify and treat pests and diseases, and ensure proper soil and water management.

• Oversee both soft landscaping (plants) and hard landscaping (patios, walls, decking).

Project and resource management:

• Manage project implementation, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation (labor, materials, equipment).

• Ensure projects meet quality standards and client specifications.

• Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.

• Assist in monitoring project budgets.

Safety and compliance:

• Enforce safety protocols and regulations during work.

• Ensure compliance with environmental and biosecurity measures.

Client and administrative duties:

• Act as the primary contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.

• Maintain records of work activities, equipment usage, and project documentation.

• Manage paperwork, including work orders and time tracking for the crew.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

• Minimum Degree in Horticulture or related

• Ability to supervise and mentor staff.

• Strong understanding of both soft and hard landscaping techniques and materials.

• Proficiency in reading construction drawings and setting out sites.

• Knowledge of irrigation systems.

• Ability to manage resources and budgets.

• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.

• Physical stamina for working outdoors in various weather conditions, and potentially at heights.

• May require specific certifications or licenses for operating machinery or performing certain tasks.
