About the role

As the Lead Manager at Kim Teck Cheong Group Of Companies', you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our retail and consumer products division. This full-time position is based in Sarawak, where you will be responsible for overseeing the buying and procurement processes to ensure we offer the best products to our customers.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement buying strategies to identify, source, and procure high-quality products that align with our company's brand and customer needs
  2. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best deals and terms for the business
  3. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform purchasing decisions
  4. Manage the day-to-day operations of the buying team, including setting targets, tracking performance, and providing guidance and support
  5. Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and inventory teams to ensure a seamless product flow and optimal stock levels
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our buying processes

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience (3+ years) in a buying or procurement role within the retail or consumer products industry
  2. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful buying strategies that drive business growth
  3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data and trends to inform buying decisions
  5. Proficient in using relevant buying and inventory management software and tools
  6. Collaborative team player with the ability to lead and motivate a buying team
  7. Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field
