Position Overview

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the gelato business, ensuring smooth production, efficient store operations, and consistent product quality. This role bridges management and frontline teams — assisting in planning, logistics, manpower, inventory, and overall brand standards across outlets or production facilities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Production

  • Oversee daily gelato production schedules, ensuring consistency, freshness, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Support the Operations Manager in streamlining workflow between the production kitchen, warehouse, and retail outlets.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients, packaging, and supplies; coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
  • Assist in equipment maintenance scheduling and ensure production hygiene and safety standards are met.

2. Outlet Management

  • Coordinate with store supervisors to ensure outlets operate efficiently and maintain excellent customer service standards.
  • Support in scheduling manpower and managing staff rosters across multiple outlets.
  • Conduct regular audits of store cleanliness, display presentation, and compliance with SOPs.

3. Quality Control & Standards

  • Monitor product quality from production to serving, ensuring consistent taste, portioning, and appearance.
  • Report and help resolve any operational issues, customer complaints, or quality deviations promptly.
  • Enforce hygiene, safety, and food handling standards according to HACCP or local regulations.

4. Training & Staff Development

  • Support onboarding and on-the-job training for new staff in operations, production, and customer service.
  • Reinforce brand culture, operational SOPs, and customer service expectations.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist in inventory tracking, stock counts, and wastage control measures.
  • Support cost efficiency initiatives to optimize labor, materials, and utilities.

6. Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly operational reports for management review.
  • Track KPIs such as sales performance, production yield, waste, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support operational planning for events, catering orders, or new outlet openings.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Food Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in F&B operations; experience in dessert, gelato, or café business preferred.
  • Strong understanding of F&B operational processes and customer service excellence.
  • Leadership and team coordination skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Possesses own transport (car)
