Procurement Category Manager – Integrated Logistics and Marine Agency Services

Position Summary

This Manager role is critical to ensure that the Product Teams, individual Countries and Group achieve profitability and business growth objectives. This will require close collaboration with commercial teams and buyers within and across Products to achieve priority targets.

Detailed Responsibilities

Strategy

·       For Integrated Logistics (IL) and Marine Agency Services (MAS) establish category management and vendor strategies based on commercial priorities and local considerations, whilst cultivating group vendor & client relationships.

·       Perform detailed analysis of key vendors and expenditure categories to measure performance and identify targets for improvement, with consideration of market trends and best practice.

·       Identify opportunities to leverage Ben Line's scale and reach within and across Products.

·       Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to support procurement organization change and adoption of new processes and technologies.

Cross-Functional Work:

·       Work across products to align procurement strategies and leverage IL's & MAS's scale.

·       Provide data-driven insights and support to analysts and stakeholders.

Vendor Relationships & Negotiation

·       Negotiate with and establish relationships with key IL/MAS vendors, securing favorable terms and conditions to support profitability and cash flow improvements.

·       Provide additional guidance & support to local procurement teams in vendor management and/or negotiations as required.

Reporting, Governance & Control

·       Develop and drive the adoption of consistent procurement processes and policies, advocating best practice, whilst monitoring compliance with relevant internal & external regulations.

·     Assess vendors to track expenditure throughout contracts & operations. While managing reputational, ethical and supply chain risks.

·     Adopt technologies to drive process efficiencies and enhanced control frameworks.

People & Process

·       Establish strong relationships with the key people in the product to better understand their business requirements and tailor vendor solutions to maximize repeat business.

Provide coaching, training, and guidance to business stakeholders & procurement colleagues
