Bakery Assistant

The bakery assistant needs to assist with the day-to-day activities relating to the bakery operation. Maintaining outstanding department condition with fully stocked and visual merchandising standards. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the opening and closing of the bakery section according to procedure on a daily basis and as required

· Handle baking pastries and preparing fresh bread, pastries and other baked goods as when needed

· Display bakery items and products on the shelves and counters

· Participate in the daily quality control of products and report any issues to the superior

· Perform daily check on price change report to ensure every product with correct price and description

· Ensure the correct information on POP cards and display according to company standards and government rules requirement

· Maintain personal grooming (hygiene & appearance) and clean the bakery section on a daily basis to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food handling guidelines

· Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the storage area, selling floor and entire department as well as equipment (baking utensils, tools and machinery) according to the company SOP

· Ensure FIFO (First in First Out) & FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practice in cold room storage and display area through daily check on the expiry dates and freshness of the products

· Assist in minimizing and controlling the product disposal and reducing shrinkage percentage with limit set by management

· Always provide good services to the customers

· Assist and support all sales, marketing and promotional activities

· Perform any other duties in general operational functions and ad-hoc assignments

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Must possess at least vocational certificate (SKM) in bakery, pastry or any relevant courses

· Minimum 1 year's working experience in bakery or patisserie

· Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English

· Basic communication skills and interpersonal skills

· Customer satisfaction oriented

· Able to work independently with minimum supervision

· Managing multiple tasks (baking, cleaning, serving) efficiently during peak hours.
