About the Role

Our client, a well-established financial institution, is seeking an experienced and driven Manager, Security Operations, to lead the bank's IT security operations and safeguard its critical infrastructure and data assets. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily security operations, ensure compliance, and lead a skilled team dedicated to maintaining a strong cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and performance of all security technologies—including firewalls, WAF, EDR (e.g., FireEye), IPS, and NAC.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and Bank Negara Malaysia's RMiT guidelines.
  • Manage patching, firmware upgrades, and vulnerability remediation across all security infrastructure.
  • Support and execute security technology refresh initiatives and contribute to the design and enhancement of new security solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT and business teams to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Manage and validate security-related changes and configurations to ensure operational integrity.
  • Lead incident response activities and drive improvements in security monitoring and alerting.
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop a high-performing Security Operations team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards on security operations to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and security, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing a broad range of security tools (e.g., Firewalls, WAF, IPS/IDS, Endpoint Security, NAC, SIEM).
  • Solid understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, BNM RMiT, PCI DSS).
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE 4+, or Palo Alto PCNSE are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
