We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director, Educational Transformation to drive the strategic development and implementation of cutting-edge teaching and learning methodologies across all Faculties in our university. This leadership role requires a forward-thinking professional passionate about leveraging emerging trends in technology and pedagogy to enhance academic excellence and student engagement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership & Vision

  2. Develop and implement forward-thinking strategies for Innovative and Technology-Enabled Learning (ITEL) across all Faculties, aligned with global trends and best practices.

  3. Spearhead university-wide reviews of ITEL strategies, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

  4. Pedagogical Innovation & Instructional Design

  5. Design and implement proposals focusing on instructional design, technology integration, innovative assessment methods, and robust ITEL infrastructure.

  6. Lead transformation of academic staff through targeted pedagogical training and support, ensuring effective integration of ITEL into teaching practices.

  7. Technology Integration & Digital Learning

  8. Explore, evaluate, and adopt diverse ITEL tools and techniques to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

  9. Drive research and development initiatives in digital learning, with emphasis on AI, analytics, and immersive technologies (VR/AR).

  10. Academic Staff Development

  11. Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to identify gaps in ITEL and pedagogy competencies.

  12. Design and implement a comprehensive Professional Development Programme to upskill educators in modern teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

  13. Programme Transformation & ODL Expansion

  14. Identify opportunities to convert existing or new programmes into fully Open and Distance Learning (ODL) formats.

  15. Collaborate with Faculties to ensure regulatory compliance and secure necessary approvals for ODL programmes.

  16. External Engagement & Corporate Training

  17. Develop and oversee ITEL-focused courses and certifications for external stakeholders through corporate training initiatives, including spearheading micro-credentialing efforts.

  18. Foster partnerships with industry and academia to deliver impactful programmes that meet evolving educational and workforce needs.

  19. Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration

  20. Establish and lead strategic collaborations with local and international universities and organizations.

  21. Promote joint development and knowledge sharing to advance ITEL initiatives and global best practices.

  22. Research & Scholarly Contribution

  23. Supervise postgraduate research projects in digital learning and ITEL-related fields.

  24. Contribute to scholarly publications and establish thought leadership in educational transformation.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or a related field, with at least 8-10 years higher education experience.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale ITEL strategies, integrating emerging technologies (AI, analytics, VR/AR) and producing impactful research publications.
  • Strong expertise in instructional design, online/blended learning, professional development planning and conducting Training Needs Analyses (TNA).
  • Experience in managing partnerships with industry and academia and familiarity with regulatory requirements for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive educational innovation
