Senior
Mechanical Engineer
to oversee the design, fabrication, and quality assurance of process equipment, ensuring it meets industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Oversight
- Lead mechanical engineering design activities and mentor junior engineers.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure technical consistency and project success.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet client expectations and company objectives.
Design & Development
- Review, approve, and optimize mechanical designs for process equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, separators, and piping systems.
- Ensure designs adhere to ASME, API, and other international standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert-level input during design reviews and technical discussions with clients.
Fabrication & Quality Assurance
- Oversee fabrication and assembly processes at workshops and vendor facilities.
- Conduct technical audits, inspections, and design validations to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Lead the review of welding procedures, NDT reports, and material certifications.
Technical Expertise
- Perform complex engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Provide solutions to design and fabrication challenges, leveraging advanced technical knowledge.
- Ensure continuous improvement in engineering processes, documentation, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Liaise with clients, project managers, vendors, and third-party inspectors to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
- Represent the mechanical discipline in meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Experience:
Minimum
8–10 years
of relevant experience in process equipment design and fabrication within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry. - Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in CAD and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API, AWS, ISO, and related standards.
- Strong understanding of materials, welding processes, and pressure equipment fabrication.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and engineering excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE/Ir) registration or eligibility is an advantage.
- Experience in project management or EPC environments.
- Familiarity with digital engineering tools and advanced analysis software.
