Overview:

The QA Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications and systems by designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and working with developers and analysts to resolve issues. This role ensures that products meet functional, performance, and security standards before release.

Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning and Strategy: Understand project requirements, user stories, and system specifications. Develop comprehensive test plans outlining scope, objectives, resources, and timelines. Define test strategies for manual and automated testing approaches.
  2. Test Case Design and Execution: Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on functional requirements. Execute test cases manually or using automation tools. Record and track test results and document discrepancies.
  3. System Integration Testing (SIT) support: Coordinate and support the System Integration Testing (SIT) process to validate that the third-party software integrates correctly with internal systems. Work with development team to ensure that all integration points are thoroughly tested and that issues are identified and resolved. Document and track SIT results, issues, and resolutions to ensure transparency and accountability.
  4. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support: Support the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process by collaborating with business users and clients to ensure that the integrated software meets user requirements. Assist in creating UAT test plans, scenarios, and scripts, and help facilitate the testing process. Work with users to track and resolve issues identified during UAT and ensure that all critical bugs are addressed before the final release.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with System Analysts, Developers, UI/UX Designers, and Project Managers. Provide feedback and contribute to process improvements.
  6. Deployment Coordination: Work closely with the operations and infrastructure teams to schedule and execute software and hardware deployments. Ensure proper testing, staging, and production rollout procedures are followed to minimize disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Preferably 2-5 years of working experience.
  • Preferably 2-3 years of experience in an Integration or QA testing role, particularly in software integration and deployments.
  • Experience in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
  • Prior experience with software release management and deployment coordination is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of software integration methods, APIs, data transfer protocols (REST, SOAP, etc.), and middleware solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, etc.).
  • Experience with version control tools and deployment automation processes.
  • Proficient in project management tools (JIRA, Asana, MS Project) and issue tracking systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel.
  • Proven ability to manage project testing from initiation to closure, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and manage relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong client-facing experience, managing expectations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
