Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out weekly environmental inspections at designated sites (industrial, commercial, or project locations).
  • Prepare, verify, and submit DOE-mandated reports accurately and on time (e.g., effluent discharge monitoring, scheduled waste manifests, air quality data).
  • Ensure full compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974, its regulations, and DOE Sabah directives.
  • Monitor environmental parameters (e.g., pH, BOD, COD, noise levels) and maintain detailed records.
  • Act as the main point of contact during DOE audits or site visits.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain all environmental permits, licenses, and documentation.
  • Support internal environmental awareness and training initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree minimum in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience working as an Environment Officer (EO) in Malaysia, preferably in Sabah or East Malaysia.

  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in preparing and submitting DOE environmental reports.

  • Familiarity with Scheduled Waste Management, wastewater monitoring, and emission controls.
  • Understanding of DOE enforcement protocols and compliance procedures.

  • Skills:

  • Strong report-writing and documentation abilities.

  • Proficient in basic data analysis and record-keeping.
  • Valid Malaysian driving license (required for site mobility)
