Technician (FIBER)

Key Responsibilities

· Assist/Supervise on-site Fiber optic cable installation, pulling, laying, and termination at site.

· Perform Fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting using OTDR and related tools when required.

· Conduct site surveys for route planning, risk assessment, and resource estimation.

· Support site preparation, ducting, manhole installation, and route verification.

· Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for Fiber network infrastructure.

· Maintain documentation of splicing records, test results, and update as-built drawings or reports.

· Ensure proper handling, labeling, and protection of Fiber cables during installation.

· Maintain safety standards and housekeeping at all work areas.

· Liaise with subcontractors and other departments to meet project timelines.

· Support project completion, commissioning, and handover documentation.

Requirements:

· Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Fiber Optic or related technical field.

· Candidates with valid CA1C & CA2C certification from Telekom are an advantage.

· Min 2 years of experience as Technician and in Fiber.

· Knowledge of Fiber splicing, testing, and fault detection and familiar with tools such as OTDR, power meter, cleaver, and fusion splicer.

· Ability to read site drawings, Fiber layouts, and as-built plans.

· Able to work under minimum supervision and meet project deadlines.

· Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in varying site conditions.

· Willing to travel or relocate for project assignments.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office.

· Willing to work beyond regular working hours and remain on standby when required

· Possess a valid driving or motorcycle license (D / B2).
