Job Purpose

To provide strategic support on technical matters and advices on Rail Power & System and other related projects or initiatives to be undertaken by End-users. To review technical submission of projects at initiation, implementation and post completion to achieve the quality and objectives of the programs or developments made. To manage the project within the time, scope, cost and quality by utilising the available resources effectively, mitigating risks and ensuring customer satisfaction align with the company's business needs.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Check, review and provide feedbacks on technical reports for stakeholders in specific project or new development to ensure the technical aspects are properly captured in the report prior escalation to management.
  2. Responsible for coordinating and managing interfacing between all stakeholder from project working level to supporting divisions on project-related matters and eliminate conflicts between parties involved to maintain good working relationships.
  3. Accountable for initiating, planning, evaluating and managing projects for execution and delegate to the individual Project Managers/Engineers according to specialisation to ensure smooth and well-balanced loading.
  4. Check, review and provide inputs on the sufficiency of contents for Scope of Works, Technical Specifications, and other parts of the Employer's Requirement (ER) in project Tender Documents, ensuring that the ER is complete and comprehensive for issuance of tender with minimal potential for variation orders or disputes during post-award stage.
  5. Strategize, plan and manage implement project with proper monitoring and control and to make decisions based on sufficient analyses to ensure the project outcome is as planned and achieve the targeted objectives.
  6. Responsible in providing technical advices to End-users in managing issues with consultants, third party, contractors, etc and identify potential issues to mitigate risks during project implementation to produce the desired result.
  7. Ensure the delivery of timely project execution and within cost and, where unavoidable, to recommend variations for consideration by management.
  8. Assess and strategize suitable approach on any proposal or initiative that is able to improve the result of delivering maintenance to meet company's cost saving initiatives or/and increase efficiency in Operation.
  9. Responsible and manage for staff development and growth by ensuring active participations in internal and external trainings/ seminars/ conferences.
  10. Support Head of Department for technical input and delivering successfully projects/initiatives to be undertaken by End-users.

Academic / Professional Qualifications

Degree or Masters in any one (1) of the following:

  • Mechanical Engineering;
  • Electrical Engineering;
  • Electronics Engineering.

Note: Consideration on other discipline if have work in public transport environment.

Years of Experience

More than 10 years of working experience in Project Management on Rail systems specifically on Signaling, Comms and Power system (High-voltage).

  • Expertise in project scheduling software is preferable.
