The role of an Assistant Manager, Accounts & Finance reporting to Senior Finance Manager. Her role as a part of accounts and finance team, prepare and responsible for the full range of accounting, including bookkeeping, management accounting, monthly financial reporting (Balance sheet, Profit & Loss), and any other ad hoc advice and assistance on accounting-related matters. The purpose of this role is to coordinate and perform a full set of accounts and for ad hoc tasks. Her role also assists Manager to supervise members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts (Income statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and ensure proper recording of accounting records in compliance with the company's policies, approved accounting standards and related statutory tax requirements on timely basis.
- Responsible and coordinate day-to-day financial activities to ensure compliance with finance-related SOP e.g.: monthly billing to clients, collection, employee claim, payment, fund transfer etc. and ensure all documents (soft & hard copies) are well-received are checked, validated and matched accordingly and maintain proper filling of documents.
- Prepare monthly management report and variance analysis actual against the budget, highlight areas of concern to management.
- Monitor bank balance / cash flow position and fund placement, prepare cash flow projection.
- Support in audit, tax, company secretary and banking matters and liaise with relevant parties.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing actual financial data and analysis.
- Required to guide accounts staff effectively and keep abreast of accounting practices and regulations. Review monthly management account prepared by accounts staff to ensure the financial records are maintained in compliance with approved accounting standards, company policies and procedures on timely basis.
- Keep track of project cost and compare to project Financial Model.
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments when required by the management.
- Review the internal processes and procedures and provide recommendations to HOD to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in MsOffice Suite especially in Excel
- Knowledge in Xero, Autocount accounting software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- Proficiency in financial budgeting, and forecasting techniques
- Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Possess a positive attitude, able to work independently
- Times management skills to ensure deadlines are met, willing to learn and take up challenges
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
