Our client "MCE Consulting Sdn Bhd" is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Associate) to join their team

What you'll be doing?

• Lead mechanical design: Spearhead mechanical design for building projects, with a particular emphasis on data center design competencies.
• Manage project deliveries: Oversee and coordinate project deliveries by reviewing and approving drawings, calculations, and technical reports in line with quality procedures.
• Team leadership: Guide and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables while conducting training and performance reviews.
• Business development: Contribute to business growth by assisting with proposal preparation and tender submissions.
• Professional endorsement: Provide expert endorsement of drawings for submission to local authorities and relevant jurisdictions.
• Quality assurance: Implement and maintain QA/QC processes for mechanical engineering works.

Who are they looking for?

• Educational background: Holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional certification: Chartered Mechanical Engineer or Professional Engineer with a Practicing Certificate (PEPC) issued by the Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
• Data center expertise: Extensive experience working in a consulting environment on data center design projects.
• Project complexity: Demonstrated experience in major and complex data center projects with Uptime Institute Tier Certification for Design Documentation (TCDD) & Constructed Facility (TCCD).
• Additional certifications: Possession of certifications such as ATD, ATP, Green Building Index, LEED, or Green Mark is advantageous.
• Project management skills: Sound understanding of project management, risk assessment processes, and international standards.
• Communication abilities: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Relevant experience: 8-10 years of experience in M&E consulting, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Design proficiency: Strong background in HVAC, fire protection, cold water & sanitary plumbing, and mechanical systems design for buildings.
• Local knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian projects and local authority submissions.
• Team management: Proven track record in managing teams, project delivery, and client/stakeholder coordination.
• Technical skills: Competency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP (BIM), and CFD simulation software is beneficial.
• Project scheduling: Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera for project scheduling.
• Language skills: Proficiency in English and Malay to facilitate effective communication with local stakeholders and international clients.
