We move products that keep our customers' businesses running. As our General Manager of Transportation, you'll lead the strategy and day-to-day execution across haulage, linehaul, distribution and last-mile—driving reliability, safety, and profitable growth at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

2. Develop and implement strategic transportation plans aligned with company objectives.

3. Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across all transport functions.
4. Set annual business targets (revenue, cost efficiency, service level) and ensure achievement.

5. Lead expansion initiatives, including route optimization, fleet growth, and network coverage.

6. Operations Management

7. Oversee day-to-day transportation activities including haulage, linehaul, distribution, and last-mile delivery.

8. Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.
9. Monitor KPIs such as fleet utilization, on-time performance, cost per trip, and fuel efficiency.
10. Implement effective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.

11. Optimize route planning and resource allocation using technology and data-driven tools.

12. Financial & Cost Control

13. Prepare and manage transportation budgets (OPEX & CAPEX).

14. Analyze cost structure and initiate cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
15. Review and approve major expenditures, vendor contracts, and procurement of assets.

16. Track profitability by customer, route, or project to ensure healthy margins.

17. Team Leadership & Development

19. Establish clear performance standards and provide training, coaching, and career development.

20. Promote a positive, safe, and performance-oriented work culture.

21. Customer & Stakeholder Management

22. Build strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and business partners.

23. Ensure service reliability, quick issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
24. Collaborate with internal departments (BD, Warehouse, Finance, HR) to ensure operational synergy.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transport/logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven leadership in large-scale fleet or distribution management.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
