Junior Botanist

Key Responsibilities

Plant Care & Maintenance

• Perform daily care of indoor & outdoor plants (watering, pruning, repotting, fertilizing).
• Monitor plant health, detect early signs of diseases, pests, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Implement pest control and plant treatment procedures as instructed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant areas, nurseries, and storage.

Botanical & Research Support

• Assist in plant identification, classification, and maintaining botanical records.
• Support research on plant growth, soil composition, irrigation, and environmental conditions.
• Conduct basic experiments or observations related to plant development.
• Collect samples (soil, leaves, water) for analysis when required.

Horticulture Operations

• Assist in landscape planning, setup, and maintenance for HQ areas.
• Support installation of new plants, garden features, and green projects.
• Monitor irrigation systems and ensure proper water distribution.

Administrative & Reporting

• Update plant inventory, growth logs, and maintenance schedules.
• Prepare simple reports on plant health, project progress, and field observations.
• Assist in sourcing of seeds, fertilizers, equipment, and horticulture tools.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, Landscape Architecture, or related fields.
• 0–2 years of experience in plant care or horticulture (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Basic knowledge of:
• Plant species, propagation, and soil types
• Pest & disease management
• Fertilizer application
• Landscape or nursery operations
• Passion for plants, outdoor work, and environmental sustainability.
• Physically able to handle gardening tools and moderate outdoor tasks.
• Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
