The
Regulatory Affairs & Product Compliance Manager
ensures that the company's products and services meet all regulatory requirements and quality standards. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance strategies and processes, collaborating across functions, and conducting regular compliance assessments. The position also serves as a key advisor to management on regulatory risks and opportunities, supporting informed and sustainable business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Stay up-to-date with local, national, and international regulations and standards relevant to the company's products.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies to ensure the company's products meet legal and quality standards.
- Review and interpret new or updated regulations, providing timely impact assessments and implementation plans.
- Conduct risk assessments on new products and product changes, identifying potential compliance risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Manage relationships with testing laboratories, certification bodies, and related stakeholders.
- Assist external auditors or regulatory authorities during inspections.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the trade team, legal department and relevant stakeholders to align product compliance efforts with business goals.
- Provide advisory support to business units and stakeholders on compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Build and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.
Process Improvement & Data Management
- Develop and maintain databases accurately with up-to-date records of product compliance activities and documentation.
- Drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, developing streamlined workflows, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and compliance alignment.
- Collaborate with team members to assess current processes, gather feedback, and introduce innovative solutions that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented process changes and continuously refine approaches to ensure sustained improvements.
Training, Leadership & Culture Building
- Lead, motivate, support, and coach team members to achieve departmental and company objectives.
- Set clear performance goals and monitor progress through regular feedback and evaluations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance requirements, policies, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Contribute to the development of long-term compliance strategies that align with business growth and organizational objectives.
Requirements:
- Has more than 8 years of experience in regulatory affairs and product compliance.
- Proven experience in a regulatory compliance role within a similar industry, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize & multitasking tasks, manage deadlines and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Proficiency in written Chinese is required to liaise effectively with suppliers in China.
- Effective leadership abilities, capable of motivating teams and achieving goals.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all compliance-related activities.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
