Responsibilities:

Database Administration & Management:

  • Multi-Platform Management:

  • Performance Optimization:
    Monitor, analyse, and optimize database performance using modern tools and techniques
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
    Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, and cross-cloud backup strategies
  • Security Management
    : Implement and maintain database security policies, encryption, auditing.
  • Capacity Planning:
    Proactive monitoring and planning for storage, compute, and licensing requirements across all platforms

Modern DevOps & Automation:

  • CI/CD Pipeline Integration:
    Design and implement database deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
  • Infrastructure as Code:
    Manage database infrastructure using Terraform, ARM templates and PowerShell DSC
  • Database Version Control:
    Implement database schema versioning tools
  • Automated Deployment:
    Maintain automated deployment scripts for database changes across environments

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  • Advanced Monitoring:
    Utilize modern monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, New Relic, etc)
  • Performance Troubleshooting:
    Expert-level query optimization, execution plan analysis, and system bottleneck identification
  • Proactive Alerting:
    Design and implement intelligent alerting systems with minimal false positives
  • Root Cause Analysis:
    Conduct thorough analysis of database issues using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Documentation:
    Maintain comprehensive runbooks and troubleshooting guides

Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
    MCSA/MCSE SQL Server, Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300), Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.
  • Bachelor's Degree
    : Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • Stay updated with latest SQL Server features and cloud database services
  • Continuously improve skills in automation, monitoring, and DevOps practices
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and documentation

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of SQL Server administration, including performance tuning, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing databases across
