Job Summary

The Site Supervisor oversees daily construction operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications. This role involves managing workers, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on construction experience, and the ability to troubleshoot on-site issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

@ On-Site Management & Supervision

  • Supervise and direct construction crews, subcontractors, and laborers.

  • Ensure work is performed according to approved plans, codes, and safety regulations.

  • Monitor daily progress and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.

@ Quality Control & Compliance

  • Inspect materials, workmanship, and installations to ensure quality standards.

  • Report defects, deviations, or delays to the Project Manager.

  • Verify that all work complies with building codes and contract requirements.

@ Health & Safety Enforcement

  • Implement and enforce site safety policies (OSHA, company protocols).

  • Conduct safety toolbox talks and ensure proper use of PPE.

  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, reporting to management.

@ Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve issues.

  • Coordinate deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Attend progress meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.

@ Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs, including labor hours, equipment usage, and incidents.

  • Track site inventory and report shortages or damages.

  • Assist with preparing progress reports and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

@ Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); diploma in Construction Management or related field (preferred).

  • 1-2+ years of experience in construction supervision (residential, commercial, or civil projects).

@ Technical Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

  • Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.

  • Basic knowledge of construction software (e.g. MS Project) is advantageous.

@ Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

@ Work Conditions

  • Physically demanding role (standing, climbing, lifting).

  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction hazards.

  • May require overtime, weekend work, or travel to multiple sites.
