Overview:
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Cloud Sales Specialist to join our expanding sales team. In this mid-senior role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for cloud solutions, with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud offerings. You will engage with prospective clients, understand their business needs, and articulate how our cloud solutions can address their challenges and drive their digital transformation. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, a solid understanding of various cloud platforms, and a passion for helping businesses succeed with cloud technology.
Job Descriptions
- New Business Development: Proactively identify and qualify new sales opportunities within target markets, focusing on businesses that can benefit from cloud solutions.
- Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close, including prospecting, discovery, solution presentation, proposal development, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Cloud Solution Expertise: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Google Cloud solutions (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Apigee, AppSheet, Looker, and emerging AI solutions like Gemini), and a foundational knowledge of other major cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
- Needs Assessment & Solution Alignment: Conduct thorough needs assessments with prospects to understand their pain points, business objectives, and technical requirements, then align our cloud solutions to meet those needs.
- Value Proposition: Effectively communicate the value proposition of our cloud solutions, demonstrating how they can drive efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage for clients.
- Billing & Spend Optimization: Advise clients on cloud billing best practices and help them optimize their cloud usage and spend to maximize cost efficiency and ROI.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pre-sales engineers, solution architects, and professional services teams to design tailored solutions and ensure seamless client onboarding and success.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, manage pipeline activities, and report on progress against sales targets using CRM tools.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and new cloud technologies to effectively position our solutions and identify new opportunities.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet and exceed assigned revenue and gross margin targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, specifically selling cloud solutions (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Good understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and trends across various providers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at various levels.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand complex business challenges.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and business development.
Preferred
- Direct experience selling Google Cloud solutions.
- Relevant cloud sales certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Sales Credential, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals).
- Familiarity with digital transformation methodologies.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in a Google Cloud Partner environment.
- A strong professional network within the enterprise or SMB segment in Malaysia or Singapore.
- Knowledge of specific industry verticals.
