Job Summary

iConnexion is a leading electronics solutions provider, specializing in components, connectors, and modules for advanced PCBA and embedded applications. We are seeking a proactive Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our Penang-based team. In this role, you will act as the bridge between our customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams. You will drive design-in opportunities, support customer projects from concept to production, and ensure our partners maximize the value of our technology portfolio. This is not a service or repair role – it is a customer-facing, solution-driven engineering position. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design-in support and application guidance for PCBA-level components, connectors, and modules.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, and training for customers.
  • Work closely with suppliers to gain expertise in their product portfolios and transfer this knowledge to customers.
  • Support customers throughout their product development lifecycle – from evaluation, prototyping, to mass production.
  • Stay updated with latest technologies and industry trends to advise customers effectively.
  • Contribute technical feedback to the internal team for product positioning and solution improvement.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver customer success.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in FAE, application engineering, or design engineering (preferably in connectors, modules, semiconductors, or PCBA industry).
  • Strong knowledge of electronics design/application, not just troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
  • Proactive, customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Possess own transport; willing to travel locally and occasionally regionally.
