Tutor (Mata Pelajaran Umum)

MPU Activities

• As an MPU Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in Bahasa Melayu and Linguistics aligned to Malaysian Qualifications Agency Framework.
• Your role is to enhance students' understanding of language structure, usage, and cultural context while fostering critical thinking and effective communication skills aligned with the Malaysian education standards.
• Prepare and deliver effective lesson plans for Bahasa Melayu and Linguistics courses, ensuring alignment with curriculum guidelines.
• Facilitate interactive classroom sessions that promote active learning and student participation.
• Prior teaching experience in Bahasa Melayu and/or Linguistics
• Strong understanding of Malaysian language policies, cultural contexts, and linguistic principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Must obtained Training of Trainers Certificate from MoHE (ToT Certificate)

MPU Teaching Activities

• Assess students' progress through assignments, quizzes, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Support students in developing proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.
• Conduct research and stay updated on current linguistic theories, Malaysian language policies, and cultural developments relevant to the subjects.
• Assist students with academic queries and provide additional guidance to improve their language skills.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and curriculum developers to enhance teaching materials and instructional methods.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
• Promote an inclusive and respectful learning environment that values linguistic diversity and cultural heritage.

As part of your responsibilities, you are required to be trained, mentor and assign NUMed Malaysia colleagues to ensure the continuity and sustainability of your role's activities and responsibilities. Your role is to facilitate learning, foster critical thinking, and support students in mastering language skills, cultural understanding, and communication competencies essential for their academic and professional success.

Required Skills and Qualifications: -

• Master's Degree / PhD in a relevant field is typically required, such as education, linguistics, or the specific MPU subject area.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Bahasa Melayu and/or Linguistics.
• Obtained Training of Trainers Certificate from MoHE (ToT Certificate)
• Excellent IT skills particularly MS Office packages.
• Strong understanding of Malaysian language policies, cultural contexts, and linguistic principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• The ability to compile lesson plans efficiently.
• The ability to execute lessons with meaning and engaging manner.
