The Legal Counsel provides legal support across Capital A's diverse business units, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while managing risks. This role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting business transactions, assisting in compliance matters, and working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.

YOUR ROLE AS A: 

Legal Counsel

WHAT YOU'LL CHAMPION:

Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters affecting Capital A's operations.

Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant aviation, fintech, digital services, and corporate laws.

Monitor regulatory developments and provide updates to internal stakeholders.

Support the implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and NDAs.

Identify potential legal risks in contracts and propose solutions to mitigate them.

Support the business in structuring legally compliant agreements aligned with company objectives.

Assist in managing legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters.

Work with external counsel to coordinate legal proceedings when necessary.

Support internal teams with risk mitigation strategies to prevent disputes.

Ensure compliance with corporate governance, data protection, and industry-specific regulations.

Assist in regulatory filings, licenses, and approvals required for business operations.

Support the protection and management of Capital A's intellectual property portfolio.

Assist in legal matters related to technology, e-commerce, fintech, and digital assets.

Advise on data privacy and cybersecurity regulations impacting business operations.

Keep management informed about the latest legislative and regulatory developments.

WHO YOU ARE:

LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university; admission to the Malaysian Bar or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal role.

Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.

Experience in aviation, fintech, digital services, or technology-related legal matters is an advantage.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
