Mechanical Engineer

Education

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.

Experience Required

• 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, automation systems, or machine building.
• Exposure to automated production equipment, robotics integration, or custom machine design.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes, assembly lines, and precision mechanical systems.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

Design & Modelling

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as: SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Able to design: Fixtures, jigs, conveyor systems, robotic arms, grippers, and mechanical enclosures.
• Knowledge of tolerancing (GD&T), material selection, and mechanical stress analysis.
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.

Automation & Mechatronics Integration

• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo motor systems.
• Familiarity with actuators, sensors, and linear motion components (ball screws, linear guides, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate with electrical and software engineers for machine integration.
• Experience with machine safety standards (CE, or OSHA).

Manufacturing & Fabrication

• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding processes.
• Ability to create technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions.
• Hands-on experience during prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automation systems.
• Work with control and software teams to ensure seamless mechanical-electrical integration.
• Participate in machine commissioning and factory acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).
• Support continuous improvement of equipment design for performance and reliability.
• Prepare engineering documentation and support procurement activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on automation lines or robotic systems.

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, production).
• Effective communication and technical documentation skills.
• Project ownership and time management under tight production schedules.

Field Experience / Travel

• Willingness to travel: Work on-site with customers and the ability and willingness to travel is important. This will include domestic and international travel.
• Remote troubleshooting and support: Experience in providing remote assistance to customers can be an asset, especially in today's hybrid work environment.

• Attention to detail: Being able to carefully analyze problems and understand the root cause of technical issues.

• Language proficiency: English and Mandarin, are necessary for communication with customers and colleagues in different countries.
