About the role

As an Application Support Engineer (System Administrator) at IRIS Corporation Berhad, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for the company's critical software applications. This full-time, on-site role based in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, will see you working closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation and performance of our key systems.

What you'll be doing

1.     Responsible for day-to-day operations and continuity of servers, network infrastructure and business application software.

2.     Communicate with internal teams including Project Management, Development Team, QA Team and Clients to ensure effective delivery of projects.

3.     Monitor system performance at designated project sites. Update corresponding Project Manager on project issues and resolutions.

4.     Provide on-site (overseas) technical support as and when required.

5.     System/Infrastructure design and development methods and techniques.

6.     To oversee, include upgrade/migration of all existing systems as needed.

7.     To ensure secure, reliable and stable operation of the systems & domain controller.

8.     To oversee backup and recovery strategy for all Window-based system.

9.     Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual Server.

10.  Monitor and administer Servers on daily & regular basis including running pulse checks, health checks and monitoring alerts, analysing reports and providing recommendation measures, ensuring all IT Infrastructure is healthy in use to support day-to-day operations.

11.  Responsible for Security Patch Management, ensuring IT Infrastructure Operating System & Hardware Firmware is up-to-date, and secured & protected from potential vulnerabilities.

12.  Conduct annual security testing on infrastructure, execute disaster recovery & business continuity test plans.

13.  Responsible to maintain IT hardware/software licensing inventory and reporting to ensure conformance.

14.  Responsible to maintain and update documentation of procedures and configurations related to IT Infrastructure.

15.  Monitor all servers to ensure no network or hardware failure on daily routine.

16.  Keep server downtime minimal.

What we're looking for

1.     Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.

years of experience in deploying & managing windows, Linux & VMware Environment.

3.     Good Knowledge in network and server.

4.     Practical experience in unix shell scripting & windows powershell.

5.     Experience in Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), clustering and backup technologies is a plus.

6.     Possess excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

7.     Intelligent, self-motivated, fast learner and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

8.     Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical procedures, write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and partners.

9.     Experience in IT Infrastructure support, database & network administration and hardware systems support.
