Job Title: Thai Chef
Location: Tamarind Springs, Ampang
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Head Chef / Executive Chef
Job Summary
The Thai Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality, authentic Thai cuisine that reflects Tamarind Springs' standards. This role ensures all dishes are prepared consistently, maintains kitchen hygiene, and supports smooth daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
- Develop, refine, and improve Thai menu items when required.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
- Monitor food portioning, waste control, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff on Thai cooking techniques.
- Assist in menu planning, costing, and seasonal menu updates when needed.
- Maintain good communication with service staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Thai Chef or Thai Cook, preferably in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of Thai cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and split shifts.
- Basic English or Malay communication skills (added advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a premium or fine-dining Thai restaurant.
- Ability to develop creative Thai dishes while maintaining authenticity.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2, RM5,000.00 per month
