Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Embedded Software Engineer based in Penang, Malaysia. The Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for Wireless Mobility's IoT modules. Responsibilities include writing efficient code, debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure software integration, and performing rigorous testing to meet quality standards. Responsible to develop, maintain, customize, and improve modular and scalable embedded systems components(include application, kernel and drivers on Linux). The role also involves reviewing system requirements and providing innovative solutions to enhance system performance.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming and compiler tools
  • Expertise in microcontroller programming and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Experience with debugging tools, hardware-software integration, and troubleshooting embedded systems
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols (e.g.,
    IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, SSL),
    IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT), wireless technologies (e.g., 3G, 4G, LTE, BLE, Wi-Fi), and GNSS solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with software testing and validation procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in automotive or industrial IoT sectors is a plus
  • 1 or more years of experience in embedded Linux system software development
  • Experience in embedded software development(user space, kernel, driver development, i.e. socket, inter-process communications, multi- threaded programming, SPI, USB,PCIE and RGMII ).
  • Fluent in English.
