Automation Mechanical Designer

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in mechanical/mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in design/drafting.
  • Knowledge of simulation and analysis tools for design validation.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Project management skills for coordinating design activities within larger projects.
  • Experience/Knowledge in SolidWorks software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Concept & Design

  • Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to understand project requirements.
  • Generate innovative design concepts and develop technical solutions.

Technical Drawings

  • Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks).
  • Ensure drawings meet standards, regulations, and project specifications.

Prototyping & Testing Support

  • Assist in prototype creation and testing to validate designs.
  • Work with engineers to implement improvements from testing results.

Material Selection

  • Research and recommend suitable materials for projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement on material availability.

Collaboration

  • Work with engineers, project managers, and technicians to refine designs.
  • Provide design support throughout the project lifecycle.

Documentation

  • Maintain updated records of design iterations and modifications.
  • Prepare design manuals or guidelines for manufacturing and assembly.

Quality & Cost Optimization

  • Review designs to meet quality, safety, and client expectations.
  • Support cost-effective and value-engineered solutions.
