Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice to the Board of Directors and Department Heads on all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, joint ventures, leases, and procurement terms.
- Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements for all operations in the organization.
- Lead the legal risk assessment process and develop strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage relationships with external legal counsel.
- Advise on matters of corporate governance, including shareholder issues, board resolutions, and statutory filings.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the company's operations and provide timely recommendations.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies, processes, and training programs to enhance legal awareness and compliance culture.
- Maintain accurate legal documentation and ensure proper record-keeping practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B or equivalent); Master's Degree or professional legal certifications (e.g., CLP, Bar) is an added advantage.
- Drafting / Reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts / Respond to legal queries and conduct research on legal queries.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, property law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Proven ability to handle complex legal matters independently and with sound judgment.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial legal practice, senior advisory or in-house counsel role.
- Experience in the property development, construction, or real estate industry is highly preferred.
