About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Group Technology team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will provide Level 2 (L2) support for Internet and Mobile Banking applications, ensuring system reliability, stability, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in application architecture planning, release management, automation initiatives, and production issue resolution to support RHB's digital transformation agenda.

What you will be doing

  • Provide primary L2 support for Internet and Mobile Banking applications, ensuring timely incident resolution, root cause analysis, and proactive performance monitoring using APM tools.
  • Assist in application architecture planning, codebase review, small-scale development, and automation to enhance support and alignment with digital strategy.
  • Manage change and release processes including patch deployment, validation testing, rollback planning, and coordination with QA for smooth UAT and production releases.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies, participate in vulnerability remediation, and prepare documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams, product owners, and vendors to deliver IT services, support post-deployment training, and actively engage in Agile ceremonies.
  • Support production systems during after-hours and weekends, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in enterprise application support, preferably in Banking and Financial Services, with strong L2/L3 support expertise.
  • Proven track record supporting Internet and Mobile Banking applications in a 24x7 high-availability environment.
  • Technical proficiency in JBoss EAP, Java, PHP, Python, RHEL, VMware, Cloud, .NET, C#, SQL Server, MongoDB, plus middleware and web services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and APM tools such as AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
