Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Bank's Legal & Secretariat Department.

The Key Responsibilities Of The Incumbent Are

  • Provide legal support to the Bank on various matters such as drafting of legal documents in all areas, in particular the Wholesale Banking business, supporting and structuring of transactions, security arrangements and banking operations related issues.
  • Provide advice on various legal issues including litigation and recovery matters, drafting of correspondence and other documentation relating to debt recovery, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, managing litigation files and assisting in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations within the Bank, as well as planning strategies in defensive suits with the Team Leads and Head of Department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university or college of higher learning.
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in a commercial bank or financial institution preferably in the legal department.
  • Possess good communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Must be resourceful and have good initiative.
  • Independent, confidential and trustworthy.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Possesses project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
