Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Supplier Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both local and international, based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery capabilities.

  • Conduct market research and supplier pre-qualification to expand the approved vendor list.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and address any supplier-related issues or non-conformances.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply and competitive pricing.

  • Tender & Negotiation:

  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RPFs), and tender documents.

  • Conduct robust commercial and technical evaluations of bids, ensuring transparency and fairness.
  • Lead or assist in price and contract negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and present commercial analysis reports for management decision-making.

  • Order Management & Logistics:

  • Process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and convert them into Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Monitor order status, track deliveries, and expedite orders when necessary to ensure on-time arrival.
  • Coordinate with logistics, warehousing, and project teams to ensure smooth material flow and delivery to designated sites or departments.
  • Resolve any discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or delivery with suppliers.

  • Cost Optimization & Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or operational efficiency.

  • Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and currency fluctuations to anticipate and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve inventory turns.

  • Reporting & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, databases, and documentation.

  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, cost savings, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and all relevant local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a procurement role, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, purchasing procedures, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and processes and ERP system is a plus.
