Power BI Developer (Finance Domain) – Kuala Lumpur (Menara Capsquare)

Location: Menara Capsquare, Kuala Lumpur

Employment Type: Contract for the duration of 1 year and extended through third party payroll

Experience Level: 3–8 years

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in data engineering, ETL, and financial data visualization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of finance-related dashboards, FP&A, or FinOps, and a passion for turning data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for Finance and Business teams.
  • Build and optimize ETL pipelines to prepare data for analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with Finance and FP&A teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Integrate multiple data sources and ensure data accuracy, quality, and governance.
  • Provide insights through interactive visualizations and performance tracking dashboards.
  • Maintain best practices in BI development, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–8 years of experience in Power BI development, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting or finance departments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, FP&A, or FinOps.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of SQL, DAX, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Exposure to tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Python for ETL.
  • Experience working with multinational finance teams or shared service environments.
