Job Title - DevOps Engineer

PART 2: JOB PURPOSE

Builds and maintains the infrastructure backbone that powers agile delivery across the organization. Automates CI/CD pipelines, enforces patch and lifecycle governance, and embeds observability across all environments. Partners with vendors, infrastructure teams, developers, and security to deliver resilient, scalable, and compliant platforms that support rapid deployment, recovery, and continuous improvement.

Engineers will be assigned to either 24×7 Support Operations or Engineering/Specialist roles, contributing to infrastructure automation, CI/CD optimization, monitoring frameworks, and secure deployment practices.

EDUCATION

Required Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Technical Exposure

  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitOps, Helm, Ansible/Terraform.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, AWS/GCP/Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows, release gates, zero-downtime deployment, and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

EXPERIENCE

Required Experience Level

  • 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Platform Engineering, or related fields.

CERTIFICATIONS / REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

Preferred / Advantageous Certifications

  • Cloud Certifications:

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer.

  • Container & Orchestration:

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Docker Certified Associate.

  • Infrastructure Automation / IaC:

Terraform Associate, Ansible Certification, or equivalent.

  • Security / Compliance Awareness:

CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or Cloud Security certifications.

JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
  • Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Exposure to monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Systems & Networking Knowledge

  • Strong Linux/Unix systems administration background.
  • Networking fundamentals: DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, load balancing.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps and security best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM8, RM9,500.00 per month
