is expanding, and we're looking for a skilled
Government Affairs Liaison
to join our team.
What You'll Do:
- To develop, maintain and coordinate externally with relevant government agencies to ensure effective support to company strategic projects/ initiatives.
- Close coordination with External and Government Relation team while performing the responsibilities. Maintain synergies in strategies must be aligned and coordinated on regular basis through daily, weekly and monthly coordination or meetings;
- To establish a good relationship between company with districts officers on mutual trust and understanding, in professional manner, and promoting the corporate and its alliance as company of choice.
- To ensure company the project implementation comply with the prevailing laws and regulations, demonstrating company leadership, environmental management, and social responsibility.
- To coordinate and support strategic project permitting and communication process with company.
- Provide advice and assistance to management on all aspects of related to the government relations.
- Report to management on aspects of the social, political and economic environment which may be relevant to company, particularly in respect of possible impacts and disruption to company operations.
- To synchronize government relations department activities and action plans and site office.
- Provide materials for management efforts for business development with advice in term of compliant to applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to permitting, reporting, and relevant approval.
- To coordinate outgoing and incoming correspondences between company and government agencies including supervision on protocol and procedure.
- To coordinate responds to government agencies inquiries in timely manner by working with management, relevant departments and its alliances.
- To manage site visits by local government officials and others.
- Participate as a member of the community and business development steering committee.
- Build and ensure good relationship with the community around the area of operation and the local government
- Pro-actively in anticipating and resolution of external issues which may cause disruption to the operation of the Company.
Budget & Cost
- Propose and manage section budget and spending as per company policies to achieve efficient operation.
- To manage program within approved budgetary constraints.
- Be accountable for approval of purchases and expenditure within the delegated limits of authority.
- Review monthly cost and production against budget, and identify improvements.
Who We're Looking For
- Have minimum 5-8 years of experience in mining industries in relevance work of scope. Geologist background is an advantage.
- Have exposure to build and maintain close relationship with local and district government.
- In-depth understanding of the local law related to land, minerals and environmental.
- Excellent communication skills in Malay both verbal and written.
- Pleasant personalities, good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, excellent analytical, people-orientated, problem solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Travel will be required to and from the various local authorities' offices.
- The role is to be based in Kuantan office, Pahang.
