Senior Relationship Manager, Corp. Banking MY

Responsibilities:
- Manage Client Relationships
: Serve as the lead contact for large local corporate clients, ensuring high service quality and strong, proactive engagement. - Drive Business Growth:
Originate new corporate credit relationships by assessing clients' financing needs, structuring suitable facilities, and negotiating key terms, including pricing, covenants, and security. - Cross-Sell Solutions:
Partner with internal product teams (e.g., Trade Finance, Cash Management, Treasury) to deliver integrated banking and financing solutions. - Monitor Portfolio Health:
Actively manage the existing loan portfolio, conduct periodic reviews, and monitor financial performance, early warnings, and covenant compliance. - Credit Proposal & Approval:
Prepare detailed credit proposals, including in-depth financial analysis, risk assessment, and stress testing, for negotiation and submission to approving authorities. - Compliance:
Ensure all transactions adhere strictly to internal policies, risk management frameworks, and evolving regulatory developments. - Facilitate Execution:
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Credit Risk, Legal) and external partners (clients, advisers) to ensure smooth and timely deal execution. - Lead & Coach Team:
Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members (Account Managers and Account Officers) to strengthen their credit analysis and relationship management skills. - Achieve Targets:
Meet assigned KPIs for revenue, portfolio growth (assets & liabilities), and maintaining high credit quality (e.g., PAR/NPL).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CFA) is a distinct advantage.
- Wide experience in relationship management with experience in both credit origination and portfolio management of large and local corporates.
- Possess solid credit technical skills covering financial statement analysis, cash-flow modelling, risk rating, complex facility structuring, covenant setting, and security documentation.
- Proven track record in successful business development and winning new client relationships within the local corporate sector.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and stakeholder management skills for effective engagement with clients and internal product partners.
- Good working knowledge of the local regulatory, legal, and tax environment that impacts the corporate portfolio..
- Must be client-oriented, demonstrate high integrity, self-motivation, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and the capacity to travel locally as needed to meet clients or visit sites.
