As a Demi Chef, you will paly a key role in the daily operations of the kitchen by supporting food preparation and cooking activities. This role is responsible for assisting the Chef and ensuring that food is prepared and presented to café standards in a timely and hygienic manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to café standards.
  • Assist in food prep work such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipe, portion, and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety standards.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and Head Chef in managing food preparation stations.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess to the Head Chef.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commis or Demi Chef in a café, restaurant, or hotel setting.
  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or related field (optional but preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and culinary techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Good team player with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Familiarity with kitchen hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM2,800.00 per month
