Job Description:

A Childcare Assistant supports the lead teacher or childcare supervisor in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The role involves assisting with daily routines, engaging children in learning and play activities, and ensuring their well-being throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the supervision and monitoring of children at all times.
  • Help organize and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom or play area.
  • Support children's emotional, physical, and social development.
  • Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and nap routines as needed.
  • Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or developmental concerns to the supervisor or lead teacher.
  • Foster a positive and respectful environment for children, parents, and coworkers.
  • Communicate effectively with parents during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of child development and childcare best practices.

Experience:

1–2 years of working experience in a childcare or preschool setting (entry-level applicants may be considered if passionate and willing to learn).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to manage the demands of active children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1, RM3,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

  • STM/STPM (Required)

Experience:

  • Early childhood education: 1 year (Required)
