JOB SUMMARY
The appointee will make a significant contribution to their discipline, typically recognized at the national level. Through research and/or scholarly activity, they will provide original contributions that advance knowledge or practice within their field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching, research, and administration across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate programs.
- Providing leadership and engagement in scholarly, research, and/or professional activities relevant to the discipline, profession, and/or community.
- Advancing knowledge through original research or scholarship, with contributions recognized at least nationally.
- Undertaking full academic responsibilities, including administrative duties, for coordinating a major award program or multiple smaller programs within the institution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent qualifications and/or professional experience in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualification in a relevant field, or progress toward one (if applicable).
- Doctoral degree (preferably by research) in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Strong academic record from pre-university level onwards.
- Expertise in relevant sub-areas or specialist domains.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Prior teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
- Record of scholarly publications in journals, proceedings, and books.
- Experience in curriculum development and academic administration.
- Experience supervising postgraduate students, including doctoral candidates.
- Experience providing consulting and training services.
- Participation in collaborative research projects with other academics.
- Established national or international reputation in a relevant scholarly or professional domain.
- Proven track record in innovations, copyrights, patents, or academic entrepreneurship.
- Experience in strategic planning and leadership within academic contexts.
- Ability to motivate and mentor academic colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to identify research opportunities and secure external funding.
- Capacity to foster collaborative relationships with universities, government agencies, professional bodies, and private organizations.
