NX Holdings Berhad has an Equine Department focused on the care and management of horses for their welfare, leisure, and performance. We are seeking a responsible and experienced Vet Assistant to assist in maintaining their health and well-being.
Job Summary
The Vet Assistant is responsible for monitoring the health and well-being of all horses, maintaining proper records, and coordinating with external veterinary service providers when medical attention or treatment is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily health checks on horses, including body condition, appetite, movement, and temperature.
- Observe and report any signs of injury, illness, or abnormal behavior to the Equine Manager and/or external veterinarian.
- Maintain detailed health and feeding records for each horse.
- Assist in basic care as directed, such as cleaning wounds, applying ointments, or administering supplements.
- Monitor and record vaccination, deworming, and farrier schedules.
- Ensure the stable environment is clean, safe, and suitable for horse welfare.
- Support coordination with outsourced veterinarians, farriers, and suppliers when needed.
- Handle horses safely during inspections, loading/unloading, and basic grooming.
- Assist in preparing horses for vet visits or treatments.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Animal Health, Veterinary Assistant, or related field (equine experience preferred).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience working with horses.
- Good understanding of horse handling, behavior, and basic health management.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
- Willing to travel between Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu.
- Responsible, observant, and passionate about horse welfare.
