Intern (Human Resources - HR)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain insights into to the overall Human Resource Framework at Coherent Malaysia, including policies, procedures and key labor legislation governing employment.
- Participate in the Talent Acquisition process such as candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience the employee lifecycle through involvement in onboarding, stay interviews, exit procedures, and engagement initiatives.
- Develop understanding in maintaining employee records and learn how the Personal Data Protection (PDP) policy is applied within HR processes and systems.
- Support HR professionals in day-to-day operations and ongoing projects to build administrative and coordination skills.
- Explore HR best practices and contribute ideas for continuous improvements.
- Receive comprehensive exposure to various HR-related initiatives and assignments under the guidance and mentorship of experienced supervisors.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Available for a three (3) to six (6) months full-time internship.
- Good understanding of basic HR concepts and employment practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in both English and Malay (spoken and written).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to maintain confidentiality with professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passionate about building a career in Human Resources.
- Enjoy working with people and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Curious, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges.
