A construction Project Manager with a FMM (Facility Management Manager) and SKKP (Sijil Kompetensi Kemahiran Pembinaan) certificate is responsible for overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This includes project planning, cost estimation, resource and risk management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal requirements. The FMM SKKP certificate itself, though not the same as the CIDB's CCPM, demonstrates professional competence in construction personnel management within Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities: -

Project Planning & Execution:

· Responsible for the management of assigned project, from planning and concept design through construction and project closeout.

· Leading and well planning for the various Machineries and Equipment that has been assigned to the project site and making sure they are performing.

· Review project schedule and construction progress, monitor and follow-up to ensure each phase of a project proceeds according to timeline.

· Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with approved plans and regulations.

Construction & Site Management:

· Oversee building works (structural, architectural, M&E), infrastructure (roads, bridges, drainage, utilities), and river-related projects (flood mitigation, riverbank protection, dredging, drainage systems).

· To be innovative and initiative in developing and always on the lookout for new possible VO works for the project when necessary.

· Conduct evaluation of performance criteria (scope, cost, timing and quality) and report regularly on the status of projects.

· Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety requirements, and environmental sustainability.

· Monitor project progress, quality of works, and resolve technical/site issues promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Liaise with consultants, contractors, clients, local authorities, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution.

· Conduct progress meeting and reports for clients, stakeholders and relevant parties on project progress.

· Resolve conflicts, technical issues, manage environmental/community concerns and project-related challenges effectively.

Contract & Financial Management:

· Overseeing project expenditures, managing risks, control variations and ensure cost efficiency to avoid delays or reputational damage.

· Ensure the completion of the whole project within the scope of work and final deliveries meet the quality assurance requirements.

· To ensure that there is good planning on the financials of the project so that enough work is being generated consistently to maintain a healthy financial environment throughout the project.

· Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion.

· Verify contractor's claims, progress payment and final accounts.

Risk & Compliance:

· Ensure and enforce workplace health and safety standards.

· Identify and mitigate project risks, including environmental, technical, and social aspects.

· Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, obtain relevant permits or license, and environmental impact assessments of a construction project.

Others:

· Make strategic decisions and provide leadership and execution directions to staff under your supervision.

· Support the organization in recruiting key personnel and monitor staff performance.

· Provide appropriate levels of programmatic management and administrative support to the project team on project activities while ensuring the implementation of standards and best practices in accordance with guideline, policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties and assignments that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement: -

· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field.

· with compulsory Certified Project Manager, SKKP, FMM

· Minimum 10–15 years of project management experience in building works, river engineering, and infrastructure projects.

· Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale civil projects.

· Excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills.

· Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and civil engineering design.

· Knowledge of different project management methodologies.

· Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

· Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

· Proactive, high integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

· Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities.

· Willing to travel and attend to different project sites, subsidiaries, or branch offices when necessary.
