Roles & Responsibilities

• Establish technical details and maintenance standards for factory machinery with particular urgency attached to high value and critical machinery.
• Ensure smooth plant operations by servicing, troubleshooting & repairing machinery
• Conduct safety briefings for any contractors who will start work at the premises.
• Ensure all critical instruments as per ISO 9001:2000 standards are calibrated on time and appropriate stickers are placed on the instruments.
• Ensure all plant repairs and maintenance cost are maintained within budget.
• Ensure all SSOP as per the ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 are fully complied, and no non-conformities are identified by any third-party audits.
• Ensure all safety procedures are compiled by workshop personnel, contractors and suppliers when any engineering works are carried out in the factory.
• Ensure all firefighting and safety equipment are well-maintained at all times.
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned by superior from time to time.
• Carry out all SAP tasks that involve the maintenance department.
• Estimate engineering supplies and materials needed and make purchase requisitions through SAP.
• Engineer for the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) covering process tuning, plant troubleshooting, plant maintenance and process improvement.
• Assist in the general administration of the department and to act on HOD's behalf in his/her absence.
• Improve and maintain the existing WWTP according to ISO 9001 and DOE's regulatory requirement under EDQ 1974.
• Coordinate with all related departments in understanding all plants processes that generate wastewater.
• Coordinate and work with other departments in any issues regarding wastewater.
• Ensure good, proper running, and cleanliness (housekeeping) of the WWTP including stock of chemicals and ingredients, consumables, maintenance and calibration of instruments, manpower deployment, shift arrangements and other employee affairs.
• Monitor the daily analysis done by WWTP technicians and ensure its accuracy and reliability.
• Compile and summarize results, conduct analysis of data using available tools and give timely feedback to the operations team.
• Compile, review and analyze third party results for submission of Online Environmental Report for DOE and any other report related to compliance.
• Review and analyze results to ensure smooth WWTP operations.
• Implement safe working procedures and ensure its implementation among the personnel in the department.
• Effective communications with superiors, subordinates, colleagues from other departments, suppliers, customers, and authorities.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 1 year experience as Maintenance Engineer
• 1 year wastewater treatment plant experience
• Certified Environmental Professionals in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (CePIETSO-BP/PCP)
• Strong communication skills, with ability to engage effectively across different levels of employees
• Preferably at least an intermediate user of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address challenges efficiently and proactively
